About Dr. Moon

Dr. Moon provides comprehensive general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care to all age groups.   After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Moon completed his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, graduating Magna cum Laude.  He then joined the United States Army as a medical officer and completed his internship and dermatology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, Texas.  Thereafter, he served as the dermatologist for Ft. Knox, Kentucky for four years.  He also deployed to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division where he served as a flight surgeon for one year.  After leaving the military service in 2008, Dr. Moon was in private group practice in Louisville Kentucky and served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine.   

  

Dr. Moon is a board certified dermatologist and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society, state medical societies, and the National Psoriasis Foundation.  He has authored numerous medical articles and book chapters on a variety of dermatology topics.  Furthermore, Dr. Moon has performed over one hundred lectures on various dermatology topics to primary care and dermatology audiences across the United States.  For a more detailed description of Dr Moon's background and professional credentials, please click here CV Dr Moon.doc.

 

In his free time, Dr. Moon enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, swimming, running, travel, and supporting Mizzou athletics.  He is excited to open Advanced Dermatology of Southeast Missouri, where he can serve the dermatology needs of Cape Girardeau and the surrounding communities.
